3D PRINTING HELP CENTRE
In the 123-3D help centre, we answer all your questions about 3D software and printer settings, problems you may experience during or after 3D printing and other 3D-related topics.
All about 3D filaments
Are you looking for more information about 3D filament and do you want to know, for example, which material is best for your 3D printer or next project? 123-3D is happy to help you!
What is a 3D filament?
3D Filament is the filling or material that is used for printing objects with an FFF or FDM 3D printer. Although almost every filament type has a base of plastic, there are many different colour and material choices. There is even filament with real wood particles for an authentic warm look, with even that characteristic wood smell. Discover more of our
special PLA filament
.
Which filament thickness should I choose?
Almost every filament type is available in a diameter of 1.75mm and 2.85mm. The size you need depends on your 3D printer and the print head, also known as an extruder.
Which filament type should I choose?
The right type of filament mainly depends on your 3D printer and the object you want to print. To give you more insight, we will discuss these questions in detail in the articles below and provide you with information about the mechanical properties and application options per filament type.
